And suddenly there came a sound from heaven… Acts 2:2

As sons of God, we must never lose the ability to be completely spontaneous in our reactions to the Holy Spirit.  “The Spirit/wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes.  So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” – John 3:8.  Notice here that it is not just the Holy Spirit who is unpredictably spontaneous, but also the child of God.  Spontaneity is the key to the realm of love and power in the Spirit.  No-one ever loved who did not also have spontaneous expressions of that love.  Love is moved with compassion at the sight of need and pain, and the Holy Spirit in us commands us to do and say things that are a spontaneous expression of the love of God.  If we will flow with the Spirit and obey, there will be a release of power and a revelation of God.  On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came suddenly, and they were caught up and spoke with other tongues.  There is no indication that they lost control of themselves, but there is every indication that they were carried beyond themselves.  Catch the whisper of the Spirit as you live this day, and move in quick obedience and faith.
