If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-38

Faith is a key that allows the kingdom to come in power into our hearts. We must examine ourselves to ask how much we believe and expect God to really pour out His Spirit and form Churches that are like the one found in Acts 2. This kind of faith is matched by strong desire and determination to see God work. Jesus said that there is a deep work of the Holy Spirit that makes us one with God through the death of His Son. This work is the foundation of the Church because it makes believers into a community of love. It takes the sin and awkwardness out of us and makes us bear with one another and wash each other’s feet. Do you believe this work is real? Do you believe that God can do this deep work in your heart? Can you ask in faith, believing that God will do it for you? Faith sometimes involves hanging on when all seems dark, but at other times it is a great open-hearted reception of all that God has promised. Jesus is not here describing a state of life that is merely hanging on, but one that has launched out in joyous abandonment into the greatness of His abundant salvation.
