Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:3

This verse describes the beautiful grace of God that refreshes the one who seeks Him.  When we begin to seek God, we start our journey in dry, weary places.  We may be so parched that we falter as we begin.  This is why the Bible is full of exhortations to rise and seek the Lord.  God promises to come like a perfect morning in spring.  His Spirit is like fresh rain on dry fields.  Life springs forth – God causes spiritual life to appear in us.  Note the step of faith: “pursue the knowledge of the Lord”.  Spend time quietly talking with Jesus, as with a closest friend.  Note the promised response of God: “He will come to us like the rain” – as inner refreshing.  A refreshed soul is not always elated, but is calmly fixed in settled trust in God and His promises.  How blessed we are to know not the mere words of God, but the ways of God.  Rise up and pursue Him.  He will not disappoint those who seek Him.  He delights to draw us, and delights when He is able to pour out His grace and kindness in our lives.  God is real, He is the living God.  Always remember, salvation is a Person, not a thing.  We are saved by a right relationship with God.  Pursue Him – that is the only way to live as a child of God.
