Talitha, cumi. Mark 5:41

When Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter He took the three key apostles, Peter, James and John, to witness the event.  What did they witness?  They witnessed the incredible power of God to raise the dead.  No doubt some measure of faith was imparted to them, as they saw Him exercise His absolute and effortless authority.  Jesus did not raise His voice or make any wild gestures.  He took the little girl by the hand and said ‘Little lamb, arise’.  He exercised power in gentleness.  The human soul needs gentleness and quietness.  We do not open to loudness or brashness; we tend to close up and hide when we meet such people.  The depths of the human soul can only be reached by the love of God.  The surgeon handles the sharpest knife with skill.  Sharper still is the voice of Jesus, and He always speaks with love.  Love alone can heal our hearts.  Love is the most powerful force in the universe.  Love has absolute authority.  Love is enthroned on high and heals us without boasting or manipulating.  Open to His love and be healed. Trust in His love as you help others and show them the incredible power of a meek, quiet and loving life.
