The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 40:5

This is the announcement by Isaiah of the coming of Messiah.  The entire world shall see the glory of God through Him.  Jesus Christ is the perfection of all things.  In Him we see God perfectly revealed.  It is the most amazing fact in the history of this earth, that the baby born in Bethlehem was God in human form.  This makes it the most wonderful event that we could ever imagine.  God did not want anyone to misunderstand Him.  People may complain about preachers, Churches, or religious attitudes that have grown up around Jesus Christ.  But the way through all the fog of religion is to focus clearly on Him.  He is faultless, His teaching is perfect, His character is attractive and appealing.  His teaching is not merely good – it is from God, without dilution or alteration.  God wanted us to be absolutely sure about the Truth, so He came Himself.  Isaiah 40:9 proclaims, “Behold your God!”  Jesus Christ is God, and it is in looking at Jesus and listening to Him that we know exactly what God is like – both by His words and by His tones.  Although the Gospels are not audio recordings, you cannot read them without sensing the greatness of the person of Christ.  Einstein said of Jesus:

“…I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene. … No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus.  His personality pulsates in every word.  No myth is filled with such life.”

It is when we believe that the connection is made between us and the living Christ, and when the connection is made, the power of His life flows into us every time.
